+ here i am in the past three hours, i've grown up, gotten a job, and got a checking account in my name.
neat stuff, eh?
so yeah. books a million in the legends. i start training at five on monday. direct deposit paychecks every other friday, 20% off all merchendise (30% on the first day of the month), and i can wear any kind of khaki pants (not coloured, just styled) and any plain t-shirt with any tennis shoes i want. they pay only in check cards or direct deposit, thus comes the next part.
got home, called gramma, asked her for a loan to start an account. went to the bank, deposited it, got a few starter checks, and here i am.
and here is julie. more later.
+
+ i have an interview with books-a-million on thursday. issue being, if elsbe's not doubled up on thursday, i'm screwed in terms of getting to and from -and she's screwed on getting to and from if she hasn't been to that store before. dad and i have been talking, and i told him about the interview purely because i'll need gas to get there and such... and i've made a relatively momentous decision: also, the first thing to happen with my first paycheck is that i'll have a checking account with debit card, because i know i wouldn't be able to keep track of checks -my wallet's hard enough to keep in my pocket. probably within a month, i'll start a savings account as well, and start saving specially for school and for a car... hopefully at least $200 a month there. once i have worked at said job for about two or three months or more, so that i know it'll be stable, i'm buying a car with whatever i can save for a down payment and seeing about relatively small monthly payments. the types of cars that i've been eyeballing are under $15,000 now at carmax, so it shouldn't be as much of an issue as i'd originally thought (yanno, those $25-50,000 cars and such). i'm hoping for a relativley small payment a month... under $200 would be nice so a part of that savings goes to school o_o;;. after those two or three months, i hope to go full time if the position is available... or to have a second job after having some experience. that should help out a lot... because in those first two or three months, i'll likely be in the same situation i'm in right now with all of the saving i'd be doing for school and car. then i'll be able to have a life. as much as i hate it, i get a feeling i'll end up staying here until i'm out of college when i can finally go back... unless elsbe and i can find an apartment that's really, really cheap and not so cheap looking. growl. when i get back in to school? from what i've seen looking it up, creative writing education doesn't have too many requirements, and since i'll be going purely on my own money, i'll probably be part time at school for my first semester so i can continue building my savings and such by working just as much. i might, regretfully, go back to kckcc for the spring and summer of '07 to get some of those required credits out of the way since they'll be cheap there. hopefully, by the fall of '07, i'll be a student of umkc with at least one part time job, a relatively new impala or grand am, and the equivilant of one full year of college credit under my belt that's actually related to my area of study. yep, there we have it. there's my life plan for the next year and a half or so. somewhere in there i turn both twenty and twenty one, and there will be much partying on those days, but i'm not sure what will happen beyond those in terms of hanging out and partying. right now, i'm putting my availability as about the same as elsbe's so i'll have at least one friend i'll be able to hang out with -aside from sundays, which are elron days, and if i can be out of the house... i'm gone =). basically... right now, i've got that bookstore interview on thursday. i got a call back from a window cleaning place that boasts no nights or weekends, which leaves room for a second job after working from, like, eight am to probably somewhere between four and five pm if they even have shifts that long. i guess wo0t for me... if they actually hire me. that first paycheck thing? likely a lie. i'll probably end up buying my own brand new and shiney mp3 player for use at said window cleaning place if i work there... or on a radio system for the truck so i don't go insane driving in silence to and from work. it'll more than likely be my second paycheck to go to the checking account, and my third to start the savings -more than half of it, if possible. and i need sleep. time to say goodnight and good luck to a friend, and to get my butt to bed.
+ and this entry will be deleted at this time.
+ another thing. apparently the entirety of village west is hiring, and i've been told that costco is constantly looking for stockers, so landa's goin' job huntin' today -hopefully. if elsbe's doubled up, i can go look around village west. if not... i can hope that she's in johnson county and i can check out costco out there, maybe sam's club too as they're similar and across the street from each other. working in johnson county would be nice, 'cause most of the places i could work there are closer to me than village west in terms of driving time. last thing. the custodian here at grant hall reminds me a lot of chef in terms of his facial hair and general stature xD. and he seems pretty damn cool, actually. we exchange hellos and things of the like as of last month or so, and he commented on my haircut today. that made me happy inside, 'cause i don't remember the last time custodians and maintenance people were friendly with the students in a school. and now i must customize. p.s. bad day/night yesterday... i smoked. and i still feel it. i was supit, because i smoked over half of a cigar, drank a coke, sang with the radio, and then went out for a walk in the chilled air. it felt really, really nice last night though... made me feel a little better, but now i'm paying for it in sounding like a smoker and having a dry throat/mouth. i could never pick this up at a constant habit.

+ whatchu gon' do? elsbe and i went to the legends to look for jobs today, and both ended up applying at hot topic... and staying there for the hour and a half we were to be out there -_-;;. thus, we're going back tomorrow, and not going near there.
when i get a job, he's getting $100 a month from me. he decided that he'll continue paying my cell phone bill, and the full $100 will be going to the compute rpayments to get it paid off within a year -which takes priority over the cell phone bill, as it shouldn't go over $50 a month for me anymore. after it's paid off, i've decided without telling him yet that i'll continue paying him $100 a month until i move out to help out around here and to cover my cell phone.

+ a little bit of love goes a long way i've decided that i like this brico pack idea for xp. it helps that i'd already downloaded the ie seven preview in hopes that it would run faster than what i had already on my computer, which it does, and the brico pack makes it look much cleaner. and i like the bar that comes with it, and the way that having the taskbar at all is an option, but i'm not surei'm 1337 enough to just use that bar yet, but i shall indeed learn... should just probably learn on my computer and not on elsbe's. i need to get these customizations over to her user and not just mine before she gets back down here in about fifteen minutes... i can do that after this.
